Franco Luisi


Franco Luisi started his career in the wine world back in the 70`s as a missionary man for Mediterranean imports tracing the guidelines for modern wine ambassadors. He quickly made a successful run in the Italian wine world becoming in the late 70’s mid 80’s Marchesi Antinori import manager launching from zero brands like Tignanello, Sassicaia simultaneously launching Marchesi Antinori Chianti and Santa Christina … he then moved back to Italy taking his wealth of knowledge in brand building and helped many importers achieve successful us distribution… some examples Luna Nuda, Vino dei Fratelli, Roagna Piedmont, Attilio Ghisolfi Piedmont, Cascina Chicco Piedmont, Davide Rivettti Piedmont, Ermacora Friuli, La Tunella Friuli, and many more.

Giuseppe Luisi started his career in Italy at the age of 19 as a sales rep brokering minor brands selling directly to restaurants wine shops and chains. After learning the ropes and brining brands to the market from zero he became Castello Banfi’s youngest Regional Manager (at the age of 21).
He quickly became a very successful manager at Banfi where he became responsible for the most important market in terms of overall sales and volume.
In 2009 Christina Mariani (owner of Banfi) championed Giuseppe and brought him to the USA making him first NY market Manager for 2 years, to then have his talents serve at a national level as Banfi, Sartori, Checchi, Bolla and Fonatana Candida’s Brands Ambassador.
During his brand ambassador years he served as liaison between the wineries and the Marinai family. He actively helped Banfi’s in house reps and managers create healthy GP’s , execute successful programming, marketing plans and activities for his brands. During those 4 years he traveled across the USA where he met a numerus amount of distributor reps and management and helped promote awareness and sales of the said brands via market work withs, GSM`s , wine Dinners , in store tastings.
He then took a position at Quintessential wines where he brought his experience to helped grow the Italian portfolio.
He then joined his father helping with brokering brands. Some recent examples of successful brand building are Tropical Moscato Piedmont, Luca Bosio Family Estates Piedmont, Bel Colle Piedmont, Cortonesi Montalcino, Domini Veneti Valpolicella, Vignole Chianti Classico, Drei Dona Romagna.
